Web Retrieval System
The Web Retrieval System is based upon an ASP (Active Server Page) application installed on a WWW server which uses the Database and graphic resources supplied by Rotomail in compliance with the standards envisaged for satisfying all the requests received.
The retrieval system envisages authentication procedures for access to data which can be customised to suit the type of user, as well as automatic options for database optimisation and can be perfectly integrated in functional and graphic terms, into existing Intranet or Internet sites.
We will now give you a few tips for identifying certain fields of use of the Pegasus filing system:
Documents Via Internet/Intranet
The PWRS questioning interface is based on HTML forms, customised to suit the type o user, allowing the easy selection of the document you are searching for. In this way, using passwords to activate different levels of service, the Database and the resources supplied can be made directly available to Agencies and Customers on the website for consultation online.
The same approach is envisaged for Intranet consultation within the premises where the server will be installed with the resources.
After finding the document required (obvious by document we mean the N pages contained in it), the PWRS extracts it from the PDF files and sends it directly to the Internet browser of the station which has forwarded the request.
The Internet browser, which must simply be equipped with the Acrobat plug-in, as well as the consultation of the document will also enable its local printing.
Documents Via Email
The search and extraction engine of the PWRS can also be used optionally to satisfy the demands of all Customers who have requested e-mailing services, memorising the e-mail address and independently ensuring the automated dispatch of the document.
After extracting the document in PDF format, the application automatically creates an e-mail message to which it can be attached for sending to the address assigned.
The Customers can see their colour documents easily, using Acrobat Reader, and print them locally using their own colour or black and white printer.
Managing and Maintaining the Historical Archive
Typically for use in the office that manages and maintains the digital historical archive, it is used to satisfy internal demands for the generation of conformant copies of documents.
Marketing activities using the historical archive
Another interesting use of the PWRS, linked mainly to the Database part of the PWRS, is the extraction of historical information for generating statistics or activating mailing activities on particular customer segments.
The production of reports or the exporting of data to other platforms is guarantees by the standards used in the implementation of the PWRS Database.
